Are you a young musician playing violin, viola, cello or double bass, playing at approximately beginner to grade 4?
Penwith boasts two lively, fun and successful string orchestras where young people share their enjoyment of string playing, learn a wide range of music from different styles and ages, and experience the buzz of making music together and giving regular concerts.
Penzance Junior Strings rehearsals are fun and informative – a sharing time for young musicians. The group also has regular concerts in Penzance and further afield. Highlights have included performing alongside the BBC Concert Orchestra at Plymouth Pavilions and performing at the Music for Youth National Festival in Birmingham.
Many PJs players continue their pathway of music making by going on to join Penzance Youth String Orchestra.
